Secondment from Milano (IT) to New York Botanical Garden (US)

Chiara Astori, a researcher from the University of Milano (IT) is working now in the Barbara Ambrose’s lab where she is studying the evolution of SPOROCYTELESS/NOZZLE (SPL/NZZ) gene, which, in the plant model species Arabidopsis thaliana, is fundamental for the correct development of male and female germline. A correct development of the structures involved in the fertilisation step is of crucial importance in the process that leads to fruit formation.
